Kudos......

News of accomplishments and exhibits by SAQA-Michigan members.  Kudos to:

Kathie Briggs, whose work is shown in the May/June Issue of Machine Quilting Unlimited as part of their Seasons Challenge.  Twelve fiber artists were asked to created pieces specifically for this challenge.  Kathie has posted a photo of her piece on her blog with more information on the challenge and the other 11 artists who took part in this challenge

Diane Nunez, who has been and will be very busy:

"Cascade"

Her work, "Twisted", is currently on display at Art Quilt Elements 2012 at the Wayne Art Center, March 30 - May 13, 2012, in Wayne, PA. 

Two works, "Siamese Twins" and "Cascade" were chosen for the 2012 Michigan Fine Arts Competition at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center in Birmingham, MI.  The show ran March 30 - May 4, 2012.

"Diagonal"

Her work, "Diagonal 3x3". will be exhibited in the The Artist As Quiltmaker XV show running May 13 - July 29 in Oberlin, OH at the Firelands Association for the Visual Arts Gallery (FAVA).

In addition, Diane will be teaching two classes at Quilt Surface Design Symposium (QSDS) in Columbus, Ohio:  "Dimensional Fabric Construction - Expanded 3DDD", May 28 - June 1, and "Three DDD!", June 2-3.

Lenore Crawford, for her solo exhibition in New York City at the ArtQuilt Gallery:NYC from May 14 to June 23.   This quilt, "Tuscan Countryside", is included in the exhibition.

Anne Hiemstra, whose quilt "Everglades: River of Glass" was accepted for the Taiwan International Quilt Exhibition 2012, which will be displayed at two venues in Taiwan this fall.
